How SEO Makes Use Of Search Engine Functionality
SOE training starts with understanding how the Internet functions. In short the Internet is one big mass of files in millions of different file formats for billions of different purposes and the size and variety of data online is increasing exponentially. All these files are stored on computer hard drives known as servers and are given locations called IP addresses. Each and every IP address is logged and recorded usually in the form of a URL.
The search engines are basically one big filing system index that constantly crawls the Internet to see whats new, where it is stored and the information or file is categorized and stored in an index (list). WE tart broadly and work our way in, letting our keyword tools make suggestions rather then human assumptions. We then start searching using particular keywords and terms associated with your product, and using synonyms for the words suggested in your early category searches.
Eventually we end up with a list of around 5 terms for each of your best selling products. We then look for short and long tail keywords for each. Short tail keyword phrases provide more traffic, but less targeted and less likely to purchase. For companies with professionally written on page ales copy and broad appeal products and services the short tail keywords are fine.
For companies selling products or services that have a narrower appeal the long tail keywords tend to pick up less traffic, but more targeted and ready to purchase consumers…
